چکیده
A disordered photonic crystal (D-PhC) structure is analyzed to study the interface mode localization characteristics. The design comprises a bilayer-disordered PhC structure, where layers are arranged in Thue–Morse sequence (TMS). impact of local symmetric substructures on eigenstates coupling also considered over wider wavelength range. hybridization carried out for varying refractive index contrast values TMS structures at an operating 550, 632.8, and 750 nm, respectively. dispersion analysis confirms bulk guided, edge-guided modes different incidence angles structural resonators. Further, increasing RI value leads generation hybrid very high electric field intensity. Thus, showing its potential applications both sensing light guiding applications. Moreover, because higher surface intensity this can be used fluorescence-based detection surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy as well.

Mode structure of coupled L3 photonic crystal cavities.
We investigate the energy splitting, quality factor and polarization of the fundamental modes of coupled L3 photonic crystal cavities. Four different geometries are evaluated theoretically, before experimentally investigating coupling in a direction at 30◦ to the line of the cavities. In this geometry, a smooth variation of the energy splitting with the cavity separation is predicted and observ...

Using a 3D fully-vectorial coupled Bloch-mode method, we present a systematic study of the transport of slow-light pulses in single-mode photonic-crystal waveguides (PhCW) with a realistic disorder model. For the intermediate regime corresponding to waveguide lengths of the order of the mean-free path (3 dB attenuation), we show that the group-velocity has a strong impact on the pulse broadenin...
متن کاملElectromagnetic modes of a disordered photonic crystal
We present a systematic numerical approach to compute the eigenmodes and the related eigenfrequencies of a disordered photonic crystal, characterized by small fluctuations of the otherwise periodic dielectric profile. The field eigenmodes are expanded on the basis of Bloch modes of the corresponding periodic structure, and the resulting eigenvalue problem is diagonalized on a truncated basis in...
متن کاملTwo-mode photonic crystal fibers.
Index-guiding photonic crystal fibers with appropriate structural parameters support the fundamental and second order modes over a practically infinite wavelength range. The polarization principal axes and mode field patterns of the modes can be made stable by having different size air-holes along the orthogonal directions. The potential applications of such two-mode PCFs are discussed.
متن کاملExperimental observation of strong photon localization in disordered photonic crystal waveguides.
We demonstrate experimentally that structural perturbations imposed on highly dispersive photonic crystal-based waveguides give rise to spectral features that bear signatures of Anderson localization. Sharp resonances with effective Q's of over 30 000 are found in scattering spectra of disordered waveguides. The resonances are observed in a approximately 20-nm bandwidth centered at the cutoff o...
